Born and raised in Guernsey, she combines a good understanding of the island\u2019s healthcare landscape with a dedication to helping islanders access the coverage they need.<\/p>\n

We sat down with Abigail to learn more about her role, what makes healthcare insurance unique in the Channel Islands, and her favourite spots around Guernsey.<\/p>\n

1.\tWhat inspired you to specialise in healthcare insurance, particularly within the unique healthcare landscape of the Channel Islands?<\/strong>
\nI was looking for a change of career and insurance really stuck out to me as something I might be interested in, it seemed to align well with my skillset. I also have an interest in the healthcare industry, so it just seemed like a perfect fit! I\u2019m Guernsey born and bred so the local healthcare system is really familiar to me already.<\/p>\n

2.\tHow do you tailor healthcare plans to meet the specific needs of Guernsey and Jersey residents?<\/strong>
\nWe work closely with insurers to make sure that their plans are tailored to suit the needs of islanders. Keeping an open communication of what is and isn\u2019t working ensures that the insurance industry evolves alongside the Channel Islands healthcare system.<\/p>\n

3.\tWhat\u2019s one thing people would be surprised to learn about working in healthcare insurance?<\/strong>
\nThat it\u2019s not just paperwork! A lot of time is spent assisting with claim issues and advocating for clients to make sure that people have access to the medical care they need.<\/p>\n

4.\tWhat do you enjoy doing in your spare time around Guernsey or Jersey?<\/strong>
\nI like to walk around Sausmarez Park in the evenings. I also spend a lot of time in the library, reading and preparing for a local book club I run.<\/p>\n

5.\tIf you could recommend one local spot for a relaxing day out, where would it be?<\/strong>
\nThe bathing pools is the best spot in Guernsey in my opinion. Sea swimming completely clears my mind on the weekend or after a busy day at work and when you\u2019re finished you can get refreshments from the caf\u00e9 and find a nice spot to sit and look out to sea.<\/p>\n

Whether she\u2019s guiding clients through claims or enjoying a quiet moment at the Bathing Pools, Abigail embodies the care and community spirit that define CIB. Her commitment to local health and wellbeing is just one of the ways we ensure islanders are always in safe hands.<\/p>\n
